Crazy Patchwork Pillows
I was trying to stay in one weekend so I wouldn't go out and shop, naturally (I saw this thing on Dr. Phil the other day about people addicted to shopping to make themselves feel better, like getting a high, and I sometimes worry I'm one of those people.) Anyway I have a ton of fabric scraps since I never throw anything away (NO I'm not a hoarder) so I decided to craft some patchwork pillows with no rules. I didn't measure, I didn't cut things straight. I just put pieces together and sewed. It was very theraputic and I think what I came up with is pretty nice.
Anthro-faux-logie Akela Necklace
I found the tutorial for this over at Flamingo Toes and decided to craft it up myself, because who doesn't go into Antropologie and say "Man, I could make that for like a fraction of the price." Click here to see the original. So I searched my fabric stash and found this great orange and green fabric and got to work. I will say make sure you've made the bead casing wide enough for the size beads you're using, because it was a little tight trying to push some of them in. Just imagine me on my couch on a Friday night with a kabob skewer trying to push beads into a tube of fabric. A sad, sad image I know. Also mine is a littl poofy and I'm not sure if I'm digging it yet. We'll see. I think I'll have to come up with the right outfit. Also if you love this check Flamingo Toes all this week as she's making more Anthro knockoffs.
I see fabric so I had to comment. Love the pillows and the necklace!
ReplyDeleteI love it! You are so talented. Plus, I feel special since I have an adorable purse made out of that same fabric (i think).
