Sweatin' to the Oldies
School is back in session and as tradition goes, I try to lose weight. I just posted a ton of pics from the wedding and realized I need to lose weight, so I've decided to exercise. If you've ever met me you know this is not my favorite thing to do as I joke about sitting on my butt all day and moving my arm as being my workout for the day. You should see my face when I describe people I know who run triathlons and such. Disgust. So the journey began with running. I live in a beautiful area so being out among the historic homes and oak trees laden with spanish moss would seem perfect, but of course it was torture to me. I began running, decided it was awful and decided to power walk instead. I got pretty far, but did you know how sore you get by just moving when you aren't used to it? Disgust. So today I did a workout DVD I have and man, all I can say is I'm sweaty, but hopefully a few inches smaller (in the waistline). Now I just need to work on cutting my lifelines of Diet Coke and Starbucks out and I think I'll be on my way to my former size. In other news I'm trying to figure out my thesis topic. Obesity perhaps? I'm toying with the idea of figuring out how to facilitate the relationship between the baby boomers and the millennials through space, as I think each has important information for the other that could make our world a more understanding and cooperative place. I'm taking suggestions though...

Oh I wish you lived near me, we could work out together and talk about how much we hate it. It would be fantastic.
ReplyDeleteIn related news, I am "running" a 5k on Sunday, by which I mean, slowly jogging half of it and then walking to the finish line. It should be quite the event. Maybe you should fly out and join me.
