I've realized with my new and exciting life (hardy har har) I've neglected updating you on said life and as much as I would love to have personal conversations with each and everyone one of you it is not possible at the moment, so TWIMO will be my platform for life updates.
I moved to Cincinnati about a month ago and am living in a BEAUTIFUL condo that was built in 1906. I like to say it looks like an Italian castle. I'll post pictures at some point. The building was completely redone last year and I've got a sweet gourmet kitchen and kick ass washer and dryer. Haha. I think I'll stay forever. I've got most of the boxes unpacked, but in typical Sarah fashion a lot of the stuff is just laying in piles, which is why no one has received pictures. I've been having fun decorating though. My new favorite home place is Ballards (yes as in the old lady catalog). Well, Ballards just so happens to have an outlet in Cincy, so I've been hitting that up frequently and have gotten some swank bar stools (3 for the price of one!), a beautiful rug, and a TV cabinet (retails for $500 got it for $90. Had my dad fix some damage, slapped some paint on it and volia! new TV stand). The bargains are a plenty here.
School has been keeping me super duper busy. I don't know if design school was this intense or if I just can't remember it being that intense. Regardless, this is testing a whole new side of my brain. I'm taking the following classes:
Markets and Organizations (essentially an intro to marketing class, in which I've researched McDonalds, beer, and Harley Davidson)
Marketing Research (Involves a lot of math that I can't do. Teacher looks like Clint Eastwood)
Product Design Studio (Had high hopes, which have been dashed a bit. Would be sooo much better with my SCAD girls in it)
Design Thinking for Business (Heart, Heart this class. It's what I want to do with my life and I want to tell the teacher that I idolize her, but think that might be creepy)
Buyer Behavior (really boring, which is sad, but we do get candy every week)
Strategy for Marketing Managers (starts in the middle of the semester, so I have no commentary)
I'm also TA-ing an Intro to Marketing class to make a little $$. I recently graded 200 papers and had to deal with the aftermath of the Millennials when they got no credit for not following directions. Listen, kiddos, the real world won't be so nice to you when you don't follow directions.
Other than that life has been full of running to class, trying to organize the apartment and desiring to explore my new city, which hasn't happened a lot yet. So far, so good though!
PS - Clair is also doing well. Loves going for walks in the nearby park and has only destroyed a pumpkin spice latte (literally tore apart the cup) leaving a lovely orange stain on my sofa. So she is good.
So proud of you!!! Thanks for the update!! Can't wait to get every detail next month!!!
