To New Beginnings...

Upon the encouragement of my WONDERFUL therapist I am going to start writing again to document following my joy. As you may know from my post earlier this year on finding something to do with my life that I'm passionate about I decided to pursue being an innovation guru and I've lived up to those goals, which I'm really proud of. I decided I needed a change and I took the risk and now I've got my change. At the end of this month I will be making the trek north to reinstate myself as a Yankee in Cincinnati, Ohio. While hanging out in the 'nati I will be pursuing a Masters of Science in Marketing to get me closer to my goals of being a world problem solver extraordinaire. I'm very excited about all this and feel it was the right decision as all the cards are falling into place beautifully. So here my dear TWIMOers are some tips for changing the ordinary and stale and following your heart and taking a risk.

1) Research your options. I did this by reading a lot and even finding people to talk to or to shadow for certain job opportunities. AKA I was a bartender for a night while shadowing an event coordinator. I decided I liked drinking wine more than serving it.

2) Find a support group. This could a friend or family. Their support can be in any form. Emotional, financial, physical (I mean everyone needs a hug). Throughout this whole journey, which really is just beginning, I have had a ton of support from my friends and family and I couldn't have taken a risk with out them.

3) Throw caution to the wind and just do it. It might hurt. It might seem wrong. You might fail. But you'll never know until you try.

Life is short. We might as well enjoy what we have to fill our days with. So here I am getting ready to move back "home" to the O-H-I-O and hopefully get a hold of my dreams, but if this isn't right, there is always tomorrow.

  1. I'm so proud of you taking a risk and going after your dreams! I did the exact same thing last year and have found myself in a much happier state of mind. I'm so excited to share my school and city with you :)
