Sweatin' to the Oldies
School is back in session and as tradition goes, I try to lose weight. I just posted a ton of pics from the wedding and realized I need to lose weight, so I've decided to exercise. If you've ever met me you know this is not my favorite thing to do as I joke about sitting on my butt all day and moving my arm as being my workout for the day. You should see my face when I describe people I know who run triathlons and such. Disgust. So the journey began with running. I live in a beautiful area so being out among the historic homes and oak trees laden with spanish moss would seem perfect, but of course it was torture to me. I began running, decided it was awful and decided to power walk instead. I got pretty far, but did you know how sore you get by just moving when you aren't used to it? Disgust. So today I did a workout DVD I have and man, all I can say is I'm sweaty, but hopefully a few inches smaller (in the waistline). Now I just need to work on cutting my lifelines of Diet Coke and Starbucks out and I think I'll be on my way to my former size. In other news I'm trying to figure out my thesis topic. Obesity perhaps? I'm toying with the idea of figuring out how to facilitate the relationship between the baby boomers and the millennials through space, as I think each has important information for the other that could make our world a more understanding and cooperative place. I'm taking suggestions though...

I'm addicted to tulle
I love how depressing my blog title (The World is My Oyster, but I can't seem to find the pearl) is... typical. Perhaps my goal this school year will to be more positive. (Just changed it. The first step is admitting you have a problem) I'm getting ready for my second wedding this summer. I'm the Maid of Honor (MOH) in this one, which secretly I'm thrilled about. Weddings are like a drug. They depress me, yet I can't get enough. I think this is because secretly (or not so secretly) I know my calling is to be a wedding planner. I've been planning parties since I was 7. If you were so lucky to be an attendee of my 7th birthday party you would know this as it was completely designed by me and was Little Mermaid themed. There was pin the tail on the mermaid, Little Mermaid prizes, and the ultimate, a three layer cake designed by yours truly. I think this is why I like weddings. They are like theme parties (with a little more class, or not so much depending). Many of my friends are getting married soon or have already and they always come to me for wedding planning advice and I don't really understand this as I do not have a boyfriend and am no where close to being married, although I have been in a handful of weddings. I hate giving the advice because usually they are ideas I've collected for my own big day, if it ever happens, but I can't say no... I'm addicted. The flowers, the mushy love stuff, the cake, the dancing, big white dresses, the decor... love it. So here goes wedding #6. Raise your glass of bubbly and lets cut the cake.
